Pamela Des Barres' Pajama Party!
I've wanted to have Sin on my couch for my pajama party and it finally happened! His musical history is a fascinating journey that is ongoing and surprising. (15 years with Ministry!) I think he's the only guitarist I've known (besides Mr Zappa) who has never touched drink or drugs, which is true rebellion, right?
I'm so happy to bring you the fabulous Kip Brown !
We have been friends for 25 years. Not only is he my driver and co-pilot on my Rock Tours, but he's also a fanatic lover of James Dean, like me. AND, super cute dolls.
We go to Fairmount Indiana together every September for the James Dean Festival. I dance with James Dean's ghost and our dear friend Lenny. It's a hoot!
You'll hear all of these great stories in this episode. Kip is also a wonderful musician and has been in several bands over the years. In fact, he's got 3 songs coming out in December with the Hollyberries, and I sing on one of them ! Can't wait!
I hope you enjoy this episode, we had a blast.
I've known Cassandra Peterson for decades but even I had no idea how wild her history was! The nine lives of Elvira! Wowie! Lots of surprises in her new memoir, dolls! Tune into our thrilling gabfest!

I am thrilled and honored to have one of my favorite humans on my show! Jake La Botz is considered a blues guy from Chicago but that's just the proverbial tip of the melting iceberg! He's an actor, Buddhist, meditation teacher, insanely gifted guitarist, songwriter, my longtime dear friend, and sexy as heck!

My guest this week is Lyndsey Parker. We have been friends for a long time, and I'm thrilled to say that her latest book which she co-authored, the autobiography of legendary muse and former GTOs member Mercy Fontenot, "Permanent Damage: Memoirs of an Outrageous Girl", is not only just incredibly well written, but the nods from the press and readers have been sensational ! We speak about Mercy's last few years helping Lyndsey get the book together, and of course the funny stories that went along with it.
Lyndsey is the music editor at Yahoo Entertainment and host of the daily SiriusXM Volume show Volume West and Rhino Records' podcast series Totally '80s. Considered an expert in music and pop culture, Parker is an Online Journalism Award nominee and has written for Elle, MOJO, Rolling Stone, NME, and Guitar. She is a regular commentator on AXS TV’s The Top Ten Revealed and has appeared in the Netflix documentary The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story and the A&E documentary I Want My MTV, as well as on VH1's Behind the Music, CNN, MTV, The Insider, and Good Day L.A.
Tune in now as we speak about all things Rock and Roll.

I'm beside myself to finally get this guy on my podcast! What a long and colorful music history ! I met Howard Kaylan when he and Mark Volman we're "Flo & Eddie" in the Mothers of Invention. Always a big fan of the Turtles, I was crazy about their voices, and one of my fave memories is when Howard had me stand on the side of the stage as they sang those gorgeous back-ups to Hungry Heart with Springsteen!. I'm definitely having him back for another round.

To say I was completely beside myself when Rufus said Yes! To my request to be on my podcast, is not even slightly adequate. My heart split wide open and smiled at the universe and sprinkled flower petals everywhere. One of my all time favorite singer/ songwriters, with a voice from a heavenly ethereal plane, Rufus also tells some forthright inspiring stories.

People often ask me who I'm listening to on my Rock Tours and I start spilling about a longtime hero of mine, singer/songwriter/ storyteller Todd Snider. His crazy genius heart and wild-assed soul are always front and center in his music. He pours it all out with self-deprecating humor and a uncanny understanding of humanity's frustrations and foibles. He's a true rebel with a capital R. I drive hundreds of miles to see him play on a regular basis. I'm overjoyed to be his friend.

Welcome to Pamela Des Barre’s Pajama Party! Join Miss P as she welcomes guitarist extraordinaire Brian Ray!
Known for almost twenty years now as one of the two axe-men (he’s the blonde) in Sir Paul McCartney’s tour band. Incredibly that's only one name in Brian's mind blowing career with many musical greats. Brian's career and his stories about how he got there will leave you wanting more.
Pamela and Brian have known each other for many years, in fact Brian once played in a summer band with Michael Des Barres, which is how they first met. Having been friends now for many years, this was a very easy pajama party. This was an incredible hang. Kick back, relax and enjoy the show.Guitarist Brian Ray’s extraordinary career has been a real-life rock & roll fantasy. Brian has the rare distinction of having worked at no other profession but music his entire adult life - and he has played alongside some legendary musicians in the process. He was Etta James Musical Director for 14 years, worked with Smokey Robinson and the illustrious list goes on and on. Ray does like to venture away from his regular gig by writing, recording and producing music for himself and others.

Despite her infamy as “the World’s Most Famous Groupie” or “Queen of the Groupies,” Pamela Des Barres has many other facets, fascinations and unique talents. Known mostly for her heady dalliances and friendships with classic rock’s elite dandies in the 60s and 70s, she presciently kept copious diaries about those madcap revolutionary days and nights. Pamela has written four books, I’m With the Band, Take Another Little Piece of My Heart, (autobiographies) Rock Bottom: Dark Moments in Music Babylon, and most recently, Let’s Spend the Night Together: Backstage Secrets of Rock Muses and Supergroupies.
She has been teaching ongoing women’s writing workshops in Los Angeles and all over the country for twelve years, inspiring like-minded dolls to share their desire, stories and ideas in a totally safe environment. She calls these writing parties “Groupie Therapy.” And as an ordained minister, Pamela performs unique one-of-a-kind rock & roll weddings!
